What is Bitcoin Web Miner?

Bitcoin Web Miner is a free browser Bitcoin miner for exploring Bitcoin solo mining. Your device runs real double SHA-256 (SHA-256d) hashing through WebAssembly and Web Workers. This is a working mining experiment, not a simulated balance or a promise of income.

You choose when to start and how many CPU workers to use. In mining mode, the app works on jobs from a solo pool using your public Bitcoin payout address. The separate local hash test measures browser mining performance without submitting work to Bitcoin.

How does browser Bitcoin mining work?

The backend receives a Bitcoin mining job from the pool over Stratum and sends work to your browser. Its hashing engine tries different block headers; qualifying results return through the backend to the pool for verification.

Is this real Bitcoin mining?

Yes, in mining mode the browser hashes real pool jobs. A pool share proves work at the pool’s easier target; it is not necessarily a Bitcoin block. Only a valid block meeting the network target can earn a solo reward, subject to the pool’s rules and fee.

Can I actually find a Bitcoin block?

It is theoretically possible, but extraordinarily unlikely at browser hashrates. More hashrate means more attempts per second. Any attempt could produce a hash at or below the network target, provided the candidate block is otherwise valid. Past attempts do not make the next one luckier, and no waiting time guarantees a win.

Is Bitcoin Web Miner free?

Yes. This is a free experiment to mine Bitcoin in your browser, with no software download or subscription. Your device still uses electricity and data. Any successful block reward is subject to the solo pool’s fee.

Is it safe?

The miner only asks for a public Bitcoin mainnet payout address. Never enter a private key or seed phrase. A public address does not grant spending access, but it can reveal activity on the blockchain and is sent to the backend and pool.

Mining can heat your device, drain its battery and slow other tasks. Start with fewer workers and use Stop at any time. Computation pauses while the tab is hidden.
